The Prompt
This captivating exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Birmingham’s evolution from a rough industrial town to a vibrant cultural hub, highlighting the pivotal role theatre has played in shaping the city’s identity.
I designed all informational panels for display beside artifacts, wardrobes, and documents. Most of the photography was provided by the Birmingham, Alabama Public Library Archives.

The Design
For the title designs, I mimicked the shape of a real life theater marquee in the area and built out a type system that complimented it. I repeated dark, curtains throughout this exhibition to incorporate theater and a vintage feel that spoke to the long history of the content. I used a color system to link like information and photos where helpful.
