The Prompt
This exhibition highlighted the often-overlooked history of quiltmaking and textile design in America. Organized by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, additional contemporary textile artists and Jewish perspectives were introduced at the Skirball. The overall story was to highlight untold stories and celebrate textile art at the same level as other fine arts.

The Design
I designed the gallery guide with specific visual cues to quiltmaking, which unfolded to include a poster reproduction of the quilt, Ruby Bridges, by Kisai Ramsess. The guide was written as a “seek and find” with prompts and questions for guests to respond to the work. Each “panel” told a different part of the story, much like a quilt.
